Additional Mendoza Tours-
For those who truly want to explore the Mendoza area and all its wineries, we offer a flexible selection of three, full day tours to three of Mendoza's distinct wine-growing regions. Each full day tour has its own price, allowing you to pick and choose exactly which wineries you'd like to visit, or combine as you wish.
DAY 1: Maipu
Maipú is one of Mendoza´s most historic wine producing regions, providing visitors with an understanding of the history and traditions of wine-production in Mendoza. Maipú offers a diverse variety of wineries, both traditional and modern. La Rural - Visit to La Rural, a Museum of Wine for a comprehensive overview of the history of winemaking in Mendoza with an opportunity to try top-quality Reserves. Trapiche - Next we will head to Trapiche Winery, a beautiful antique winery that has recently been remodeled. Trapiche is known for its experimentation with biodynamic wine-producing techniques and exceptional wines.
Wines to taste: Trapiche Fond De Cave, Trapiche Colleccion Roble, Trapiche Espumante Extra Brut. Zuccardi Winery - Stop by Zuccardi Winery for a traditional Argentinean barbeque lunch. The large-scale, modern winery produces excellent olive oils, as well as wines. Zuccardi is known for being the only winery in Argentina with over 35 varieties of wine in production. Not only will you be able to taste a few of these varieties, you will also have the option of pairing your lunch with a cooking class and olive oil tour at the winery (please mention that you would like to do this and we will be happy to arrange a cooking class and olive oil tour for you). Wines to taste: Santa Julia Varietal and Reserva.
Your three winery tour will end around 5 p.m.
Day 2: Lujan De Cuyo
A Wine Tour in Lujan de Cuyo offers great wines, spectacular views of the Andes, and prestigious wineries. With a fascinating combination of tradition and modernity, Lujan is home for some of the most renowned Malbecs of the world.
Bodega Alta Vista
Bodega Alta Vista was built in 1899, and was fully restored in 2003 with cutting-edge vine-growing technology. The winery stands out from all the rest because of its small tanks, which enable the production of high-quality wines. The cellars, the most beautiful in South America, shelter Alta Vista wine barrels.
Wines to taste: Premium Torrontes, Premium Bonarda and Terroir Seleccion Malbec.
Bodega Mendel
Bodega Mendel is a antique winery restored with some of the best technology. This winery features one of Argentina´s most experienced and respected wine-makers, Roberto de la Mota. On this tour you will learn about the process of wine-making, the techniques this winery uses to produce its top quality wines, and to conclude your time at Bodega Mendel you will have the opportunity to taste some of their wines.
Wines to taste: Mendel Malbec, Mendel Cabernet Sauvignon and Mendel Unus (a mouth-watering combination of Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec).
Lunch at Bodega Decero
Decero, meaning “from scratch,” was born from a barren plot of land and a family´s love affair with wine. Winemaking in Thomas Schmidheiny´s family goes back to his grandparents in Switzerland and, just as Napa had inspired his mother, Adda, in the 1970s, so too did Agrelo capture the heart and mind of Thomas, when travelling over the Andes into Argentina, 20 years later. At this winery you will able to taste a variety of world class wines accompanied with exquisite food. The lunch at Bodega Decero features 3 courses each course accompanied by a different wine. It is truly an amazing lunch!
Wines to taste: Cabernet, Syrah and Malbec from the Classic Line.
Your three winery tour will end around 5pm.
Day 3: Uco Valley
Uco Valley is a synonym for exceptional terroir (territory). The Uco Valley benefits from absolutely pure water, rocky soil, and high Andes´altitudes, blessing it with fertile and productive land for agriculture. In the past 15 years, Valle de Uco, has become the paradigm of world-renowned wines.
Salentein - We will begin day two at Salentein, which is known as the pioneer of the Uco Valley, being one of the first wineries to gain international fame from that area of Argentina. Salentein is a leader in cultivating the growing awareness of wineries in Argentina, as well as creating new visions of state of the art wines.
Wines to taste: Tasting of 03 wines.
Andeluna - See breathtaking views from the Andeluna Winery, you will also have the opportunity to taste their world-class wines and learn about their traditional wine-making techniques. (Interesting fact: Andeluna Winery is owned by Herman Ward Lay, of the Frito-Lay Company and Pepsi Co).
Wines to taste: Andeluna Wine Tasting
La Tupiña - To conclude Day 3 we will enjoy a wonderful meal at La Tupiña Restaurant located at Altus winery. Altus is a boutique winery with limited production, thus allowing for personalized and quality wines. At La Tupiña you will begin with classic Argentine tapas, empanadas, as well as a rich and savory main course. Each course will be paired with Altus Wines.
