DAY 1


Arrive in Delhi and transfer to your hotel.

DAY 2


After breakfast, visit the Red Fort, built when the Mughals moved the capitol from Agra to Delhi. Head to the Jama Masjid mosque, the largest in India. Enjoy a rickshaw ride through the streets of Old Delhi, then visit Raj Ghat memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. Stop at India Gate before visiting Humayun's Tomb with its beautiful gardens.

DAY 3


After breakfast, drive to Jaipur.

DAY 4


After breakfast, visit the Amber Fort, a stunning blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture that kept Jaipur residents safe during its many wars. From there, stop at the Hawa Mahal Palace, one of the most iconic buildings in Jaipur. Then head to the City Palace, still occupied by the former royal family, and Jantar Mantar astronomical park.

DAY 5


After breakfast, drive to Ranthambore, home to India's largest national park. Check into your lodge upon arrival. Dinner at the lodge.

DAY 6 


Enjoy an early morning game drive in the park before heading back to the lodge for a late brunch. After a break to relax at the lodge, take another afternoon game drive through the park. With any luck, you'll be able to spot a tiger. Return to the lodge for dinner.

DAY 7


After breakfast, drive to Sawai Madhopur Station to take the train to Bharatpur. Enjoy this scenic ride before driving to Agra with a stop at Fatehpur Sikri. This beautiful, deserted city  was built in the 16th century by Akbar the Great. Upon arriving in Agra, check into your hotel.

DAY 8


After breakfast, take a tour of the Taj Mahal, built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a memorial to his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal and is considered the jewel of Muslim art in India. From there, head to Agra Fort, part of the main palace of the Mughal Emperors when their capital was located in Agra.

DAY 9


After breakfast, take the train from Agra to Jhansi, then drive to Khajuraho with a stop along the way to visit Orchha Fort, built in the 17th century for a visiting Mughal Emperor. Upon arrival in Khajuraho, check into your hotel.

DAY 10


After breakfast, take a tour of the many temples of Khajuraho, some of which are dedicated to Jain thinkers, Hindu Gods, and erotic art. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Varanasi. Upon arrival in Varanasi, transfer to your hotel. In the evening, enjoy an aarti ceremony on the River Ganges.

DAY 11


After breakfast, take a boat ride of the Ganges and see people taking part in early morning rituals. Then head to Banaras Hindu University,  dedicated to preserving Indian culture. From there visit the Bharat Mata Temple and the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Then drive to Sarnath, a major Buddist centre where the Buddha preached his message of "the middle way."

DAY 12


After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day is free to explore Delhi.
