Itinerary
DAY ONE
Luang Prabang to Phonsavanh
Depart Luang Prabang and drive through the countryside through forested mountains, lush valleys, and unique karst formations. Overnight in Phonsavanh.
DAY TWO
Plain of Jars & Muang Khoun
Head to the main sites of the massive Plain of Jars. What these 300 jars were used for is still a mystery, some say wine, others say human remains, but no one is certain. Then drive to the nearby village of Ban Na Pia where locals have started a recycling business to turn unexploded bombs into spoons! From there head to Muang Khoun, the ancient capital of Laos amd explore the ruins of the ancient temples and stupas.
DAY THREE
Drive to Luang Prabang
Return to Luang Prabang, stopping to enjoy some sightseeing along the way. Visit the scenic Nong Tang Lake, rimmed with limestone cliffs, then head into Tham Pha Cave to see its ancient Buddha. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Onward
